I can't judge without seeing your work first, so maybe you could upload it somewhere and post the link here so we could judge better :)

f

Well, I see you've made your way here from ao :) , I suggest you start gaining friends first or joining some groups before you post so your work will be more noticed and got more comments ( or even fav ).

if you have question, just ask me or post in the forum :)

f

hard choices, both of them are quite good :) , both of them has deep story in its own way though gunslinger girl can be enjoyed more than noir, and noir is more focused on action and revealing conspiracy while gunslinger girl focused on drama and exploring each characters personality..., maybe it's a tie for me :)

oh and while I might choose gunslinger girl for easy & enjoyable watching, noir has some ep that if all of their ep like this then noir would be my first choice (ep 6 I think, where kirika had to make decision to kill the old man or not, added with the bg music it's just soo moving and the best ep in my opinion).

f

which macromedia, fireworks? I think it's quite easy (even than photoshop) , just edit the numbe r in the property box below or use the scale tools :)

At last, after reading the whole manga I must say the first several books are still similar with the movie, but when the story in the manga progress more, there are many, many (and I mean a lot) difference with the movie, personallyI think the manga is better than the movie because the story became more deep and it reveals many thing that in the movie still unclear, it's more like a more mature version of the movie with more complex story and more unexpected plot.
One example of the difference is Kusnaha and Kurosawa characters, in the manga their character became more developed and can be catagorized more as "good guys", especially after we know their reason.

This manga is a must read esp for anyone who had watch the movie :)

Oh and one more thing, although the first volume seems a bit boring (just like afan said), it's because it's quite similar like in the movie and didn;t reveal much info, but as the story goes on, the real fun begins :)

Pardon me. hahahaha. Macross close to reality, that's a good one. The
Macross valkryes are even more improbable that the mobile suit in
Gundam. They can make a robot that can walk, run and do most things a
human can. You add in the transformation of the valkryes and you add in
a whole new complexity to the program. And frankly jet fighters rely on
speed and manuverabiltiy to stay alive. The valkryes were way to
heavily armored for a jet fighter. No jet can take that much
punishment.
Patlabors are close, they're still too big and stand out in certain
terrain. The AT Votom once again are the best size for any mecha type
vehicle to ever be built. Powered armor is the future of warfare.

then it is the same as all other mecha isn't it? even gundam can do it too eh? (there's even a gundam who can swim :) ) when valkyries flies, they use their jet mode which is more manuvereable, but other mecha don't...that's the different because when they transform into battroid mode in the sky, their ability to manuver decrease alot.
and one more thing, valkyrie is not as heavely armored as other mecha who's flying, if you watch all the series you can see that even a hit from cannon gunfire could bring it down which means it's as same as normal fighter plane.
the only one who can also fly, running, swimming, jumping and hitting the ground in all terrain more often is actually gundam itself which you called more probable than macross :) ( I don't hate gundam, in fact I like it because my current avatar is a gouf, so don't mistook my words).
as for patlabor, yes they seem to be a bit to big, but that's not the point, what I meant to be realistic in patlabor part is when they fight other 'realistic' unit like tanks, aircraft, etc... with realistic result too, not to mention the physics when they fall, their armor, etc.

f

Agree with above post :)

Altough I like mecha much and there's still a slight possibility for some mecha (and a real robot one) to be available, it's their usefulness that's very doubtful...( and I said very ).

if it's for combat, real mecha like gundam would be very weak if it's to be realistic, even proved by gundam ms08th where a bunch of light tank with cheaper production could beat a ms because of their low profile - smaller body but same firepower could pack greater threat).
and if super armor, heavy beam gun and long lasting power source are availabe to robots, why don't they implemented it in smaller unit like tanks, fast aircraft etc...in reality it's far more reliable than mecha), why don't they put the same armor coating to large carrier ships (I still find it hard to believe that one mecha could withstand a direct hit from some missile but a larger ships with more expensive cost production and large crew can be easily destroyed by small machinegun fire?!? not to mention the bridge section is extremely vunerable and open to enemy fire).
not to mention mechas that could fly easily in the air better than airplane altough their aerodinamical profile are not realistic at all, and when they stomped on the ground the surface that they landed on didn't withstand damage at all...that's againt physics rule definitely ^_^'
another real examples... a soviet anti satellite missile could size the same as icbm ballistic missile, but u.s version is no larger than a missile than can be carried in jet aircraft, surely it take less resource to produce the smaller one and that's why micro minituarization (sorry if I spelled it wrong) is useful :)

so it's just not bad physics...it also bad logic, sense of reality and real world economical value imho :D

the only mecha I found to be as close to realistic are probably Macross and Patlabor (especially patlabor who really shows the comparison in fighting ability between real unit and a mech) since they're more make sense.

Technically however, Max's unprecedented psychomotor reflex speed IS his natural ability. That plus his natural affinity with his mecha (afaik, he tunes his VT himself) = his own ability + tactical savvy + he 'knows' his mecha compared to some other pilot mentioned (whom I should say merely 'pilots' their mecha).

Yes, it's some kind of natural ability (but not special power), though I think it's within reasonable unmodified human limit (no genetics alteration, etc), he is just....purely jenius? :D

Quote by volrath77To a certain extent, Kira is
the same like Max except Kira is more focused on Gundam OS but
excluding hardware & all.

except that max is more mature than him in behaviour (somehow that's what makes his mind & mental keep focused during battle and never lose combat, while kira has lost one against the trio earth gundam), and kira seems to be spoiled using already far more superior unit that anyone, so I still doubt his real skill (not to mention he's also a 'special' coordinator whose gap is quite large even between cordinator).
While amuro posses similar trait with kira, I agree with aselia because the difference between newtype and normal human here is not as far as coordinator - natural, and the gundam he's using (the first one, not the 'nu' ^_^') is balanced with his enemy mobile suit (proved when sayla mas ride the gundam, it is damaged easily which means it is no different than other ms except it has slighly more armor and manuvereability) and probably a bit inferior than char's newer units.

oh and another example of pilots using his tactics & experience is ms08 gouf pilots norris packard, he use bridge as shield using his 'wired' weapon, has good hit & run tactics and really use the advantage of terrain which make his opponent unable to repel his attack...
even though he lost in the last battle ^_^', it's still a honorable defeat ( a samurai like scene).

Quote by Aa-chanI have played it on my monitor and I didn't like it one bit. Could have just been me, but I thought it looked horrible.

that's because the the difference in purpose and specs for tv and monitor
most tv interlaced the image so that it has "anti aliased" effect (if you look tv monitor closely there are scanline) while pc monitors are much detailed esp in resolution and ability to shows small font text better, that's why ps2 who output res at 512x384 (usually) doesn't have much difference in tv while in monitor it looks like very jagged and weird, it just like playing today pc 3d game with low res.

most today vga has video line-in or if you have tv tuner it usually has one too. the only thing you need to buy is probably the audio converter jack and plug them to your comp audio line in (in your soundcard usually).
if you want a better way of viewing tv / ps2 in comp monitor try Dscaler (you can find it in http://www.sf.net ,search for dscaler), though it cannot emulate tv scanline it does however can make the input quality better than you standard line in software (or sometimes even than in the original tv).

I'm sorry, but...could you translate that into English?...

hmm... I think he/she said : I'm new taht(that?)...no jk(joking?), cool cool I'm going to check it out ^^'
maybe lizzie can translate it better :D (just kidding, sorry liz ^^').

f

current fav ed : 3rd bleach ed, I like the music very much, not to mention each ending shows different captain and the liutenant scene instead of the main characters.
while current fav op is probably zipang 1st op song (don't have any particular reason, just like the music and some of the video scene).

f

this thread.... seems to recall there's one similar like this, oh well... ^_^'
I'll think I vote for Tessa :)

Quote by volrath77he's not even a
genetically enhanced human. Just plain hyper-reflexes & badassitude
when he climbs in a Veritech.

Yup, that's what I like from him (and Macross series), His skill comes from his own training and brain not because of his natural ability (a.k.a coordinator and other special skills), not to mention the mecha/veritech that he use is no different than any other mecha which means the difference in ability is not because the mecha, but purely on skills and tactics (even some of his enemy has slightly superior unit than him).

Quote by LastDinosaurNone of my walls were ripped.. should i be insulted? lol..

in some way, it might be 'yes' lol... ^_^' since none of mine were ripped to :D

f

Max from Macross I, no-one has ever (and able to) shoot him down yet :D , and what's better is that he isn't the main characters :)

f

umm...using lasso / polygon lasso tools and cut them then save as transparent gif? ( hey, I never use GIMP before ^_^' ).

f

well, we might look at the bright side, if the artist name are still intact then at least we're getting famous ^_^' ( just kidding :) ).

f

I noticed that most main characters in anime are seems to have the same special trait : they must have some kind of special power (yakikate - solar hands, gundam - newtype, coordinator, naruto - fox demon, sixth sense, esper, etc) which are given since birth or they must be some kind of choosen people from specific heritage, etc.

Those kind of thing in my opinion are just too much, uneducating and could lead to assumption that without that special trait they can't be the main characters / hero. (common people would probably say : I don't have special ability so I don't think I can be special and so why do I have to try hard?).
not to mention that that kind of "special characters" are usually (I said usually, doesn't mean I generalize them all) more lazy in my opinion -because they had special power, they never trained or push much effort to archive something.

I personally prefer the idea of "ordinary people doing the extraordinary thing" like in macross I & zero, gundam ms08 or kaleidostar where the main characters are no different than the others, they use the same mecha/unit (like macross) and they proved themself because their hard training and experience.

another good example here is gai & rock lee in naruto, they train hard and earned their power by "obtaining" it, but in naruto they are just merely a sidekick (compard to naruto or even kakashi) which is very unfortunate because their phillosophy is very good in my opinion.

so what's your opinion about most main characters in anime? do they have to posses some kind of power to be special?

f

maybe you could search & read online reviews first before deciding which one you would use, and I've heard that AVG got higher review than mcafee and norton in some sites ( I forgot which reviews ^_^' ).

oh and the free version of AVG only detect the virus, to clean it you need the buy version :) (still it's good enough considering it's labeled as free).

f

Direct Download, since my internet connection is a bit suck ^_^'

f

BWA Ha Ha Ha.... :D :D :D (sorry caps)
the most fun part is the 127.0.0.1, even most n00b programmer knows that ip, it just so funny I can't help but to laugh.
I think he/her has just got a a taste of his/her own medicine ^_^'

f

I think Nausicaa the movie and Nausicaa in the manga are quite different, it's more like in alternate world, you can find more about the info in www.nausicaa.net (they explained in detail about the difference and storyline) :)

f

I think he let himself to be killed by wufei and not seriously taken the fighting as he did before, either way he's one of the most reasonable and cool antagonist characters in all gundam series imho :D (even better than some main characters in all gundam series).

Quote by jakulitoAnyone here know Thunder Jet or Bt'X?

I don't actually called that to be retro anime, since they're stil not old enough imho :)
however, I do wonder about Thunder Jet since not many people knows it but I think it's quite a good anime (anyone has it's op mp3 song? I've been looking for it ^_^' ).

As for Voltus V, I've heard that it was once banned in the Phillipines during President Marcos era due to unique reason :

Choudenji Machine Voltes V may not be as memorable as other Super Robot anime titles like Mazinger Z or Getter Robo, but it has an extremely strong fan following in the Philippines. As a matter of fact, the anime series has placed itself as part of Philippine history. During its initial run in the late 1970s, Voltes V - along with other Super Robot titles - was banned by then-president Ferdinand Marcos, supposedly because the show was deemed too violent for children. However, many Filipinos believe Marcos was afraid that Voltes V's storyline involving an aristocratic empire and its oppressed masses reflected his dictatorship in the country. Because of this, people in the Philippines look up to Voltes V as their inspiration for the 1986 revolution that ousted Marcos' tyrannical rule.
