APPROPRIATION: definition AS FOLLOWS

1. Below are three links to three very popular animes or categories
2. You can use any style you want. Don't care if you grunge, vector, abstract, flip it, rotate it, crop it, cut it, invert it- it's up to you.
3. All three scans have some sort of "bad quality" to it.
4. It could be that there is text covering the chara, or that it is hard to extract; either way, that is part of the challenge.
5. Pick ONE of the scans I have provided links for. These images were selected pretty much at random, taken into consideration what other walls have done. These are generally the not so popular scans people wall.
6. Appropriation - Please read the following sentence I have typed:

There is no darkness where there is light

Use this as a basis to create the theme of your wall. It ties in well for all 3 scans, so nobody should have any trouble. You do not need to incorporate it into the title or whatever, but it will be nice if you copy and paste that phrase, followed by what you thought when you read the line. This should be reflected in the wall.

Here are the 3 scans. Choose ONE. The categories are Sumi Keiichi, Tenjho Tenge and AIR respectively. They are popular and high quality scans, that are not as popular and not walled as much. We have decided to conduct a competition for our group ^^
So what is this for?
Well, we thought that this would be a great idea to get members to look at each other's stuff, and it's just a bit of fun so that you can think through what you want to do with this (^_~)

Basically we give out a theme or category and sometimes even a theme sentence you must incorporate into the wallpaper or a sentence you must complete ^_^

This month's theme is ORIGINAL

(Original)
This means the categories Anime wallpapers, General wallpapers, doujinshi, Abstract art

Definition is as follows:

1. NO scans of anime, games or celebrities may be used.
2. Doujinshi, original sketches, and manga scans are ok.
3. You may colour these scans yourself or vector them as you like.
4. Preferably this is incorporated into a WALLPAPER.
5. Stock photos may be used.

Rules:

1. Tutorials are allowed to help you, but bear in mind that it is very obvious when you use tutorials
2. You cannot use the above mentioned scans, even if you invert them or vector them.
3. Vectors are allowed. Scans that are coloured by manga groups are NOT allowed.

Anyway, I'm writing to ask you to check the group page http://groups.minitokyo.net/theunderappreciated/ because we are in a group discussion

There have been a few complaints and it has been decided that the group needs reform, and the best way to solve these problems is by expressing your views, how you feel, and feel free to make any suggestions. Here are the 4 main issues we are concentrating on:

01. Underappreciated/ Appreciated Paradox~ People come here to be appreciated. Some feel they are even more unappreciated due to this group, because it ironically has an inverse effect :/

02. Popular Submissions We need to feature underappreciated walls. Not those who are getting plenty of attention.

03. Member Selection Criteria Can be harsh, or can be ok at the moment. There needs to be some ammendment.

4. Member Activity Yes. There are some inactive members (hahaha...)
